Firmware 78.036.04 for S79H changes and improvements
Improvements and changes:
- Slideshow: The Screensaver menu has been extended by the function Slideshow. All pictures from the Screen-Saver folder are shown in idle mode one after the other.
- keypad illumination: The brightness of the keypad illumination is now adjustable in 5 steps
- 4 handsfree profiles: The handset now has 4 handsfree profiles:
- Profile 1: Standard
- Profile 2: For loud surroundings
- Profile 3: Full duplex (only on a very good line)
- Profile 4: Optimised for special connections

- Setting a handsfree profile:
In idle status, you can set various handsfree profiles to optimally adapt your phone to your environment.

- Profile 1: The optimum setting for most connections and set as default.
- Profile 2: Optimum volume in handsfree mode. However, this means that the participants cannot speak at the same time as the person speaking is given preferential transmission (making two-way conversations difficult).
- Profile 3: Optimises two-way conversations, both callers can hear each other, even if they talk at the same time.
- Profile 4: Optimised for special connections. If the default setting (profile 1) does not provide optimum sound, please give this a try.
- Profile 1: The optimum setting for most connections and set as default.
- additional display remark: If the display backlight is activated when the handset is not in the charger the customer is advised that this mode reduces the standby time significantly.
- Deleting all appointments for one day: With this new option the customer can delete all appointments for 1 day.
- picture CLIP with GAP bases: Picture CLIP is now supported on GAP bases. For other devices this depends on the software

- The character set position of "CR" and "Space" have been moved from key "1" to key "0"
Gigaset S79H - Firmware update 05/2010 (version 78.036.04)
How to update:
- Please start the software "Gigaset Quicksync" on your PC.
- You will find it on the internet at https://www.gigaset.com/hq/en/cms/PageQuickSync.html
- Please carry out the update of the Gigaset Quick Sync software if it is offered.
- Remove the battery cover from your Gigaset S79H handset.
- Connect the handset directly to your PC via a mini USB cable. (Do not connect the USB cable via a USB HUB to your PC; failures may occur).
- Leave the batteries in the handset and switch the handset on. If necessary the device driver software of your handset will be installed automatically on your PC.
- Choose “Connect handset automatically” in the Gigaset Quicksync window.
- When a connection is set up, the message “S79H connected (n) (nnnnnnnnnn)” appears. If a new handset firmware is available, a prompt automatically appears.
- The firmware will be installed on your handset in several cycles.
- Do not disconnect your handset until you see the message “Handset firmware has been updated successfully”.
