How can I setup an Online / Modem connection via Bluetooth?

Requirement for the

online / modem connection is a “ready to use” Bluetooth adapter. For the

Bluetooth adapter you have to setup the Dial up Networking Service. If you have

further questions regarding Bluetooth Adapter’s configuration ask the

manufacturer. After the  installation of the adaptor, there should be a

Bluetooth modem available on your computer. Basically, it is possible to make an

online connection without installing any Gigaset Software. Alternatively, it is

possible to make a connection with our delivered WAN drivers (The WAN drivers

will be installed automatically with the Talk&Surf 6 Software or with the

Capi). Below we describe both possibilities.

  • Enable the registration mode of the Gigaset base station (compare the manual ”Registering a Bluetooth device”).

  • Click on “Start” – “Settings” – “Control Panel” – “Network Connections”. Select the option “Create a new connection” and follow the dialog.

  • Under “Network Connection Type” select the option ”Connect to the Internet”.

  • Under “Getting Ready” select the option “Set up my connection manually”.

  • Under “Internet Connection” select the option “Connect using dial-up modem”.

  • Under “Select a device” select the preferred modem “ISDN channel – ISDN WAN…” or the Bluetooth modem.

  • Under “Connection Name” enter the internet provider’s name.

  • Under “Phone Number to Dial” enter the Internet service provider’s phone number.

  • Enter the Internet Account Information.

  • Finish the Dialog with „Finish“.
