    Only handsets featuring western or central European, Cyrillic, Greek or Turkish character sets are supported.

     

    Please note:

    The character set used on your handset must correspond with the system language settings on your Mac.

    The handset software cannot be updated with firmware.

    • Apple Macintosh PC or Notebook with Mac OS 10.7 operating system or higher

    • Interface to connect Gigaset to the Mac:

    - USB cable (e.g. SL78H, S79H, SL400H),

    - Bluetooth (Bluetooth-compatible handsets, like SL78H) or

    - LAN connection (e.g. DL500A, DX600A ISDN, DX800A)

  • With the Gigaset SL910, the firmware can be updated on the Mac. To do so, the phone must be connected via a USB cable, and the option "Automatically check for firmware updates" must be activated under "QuickSync / Settings" in the Mac menu bar. Gigaset QuickSync then automatically checks for new firmware versions over the Internet, and offers them for download and a firmware update. Follow the program instructions to install the firmware update.

     

    A firmware update of other Gigaset handsets is currently only possible with the Gigaset QuickSync for Windows operating systems. You can download the latest Gigaset QuickSync for Windows from the Gigaset Website:

    After installing the QuickSync on a PC with a supported Windows operating system (Microsoft ® Windows ® XP, Windows ® Vista (32bit and 64bit) and Windows 7 ® (32bit and 64bit)) you can update the firmware of the handset.

    Please note that your handset must be connected via USB cable to the PC. A firmware update via Bluetooth connection is not possible.

  • using USB connection:

    Check that the USB cable is connected correctly and try again.

     

    using Bluetooth connection:

    Make sure that Bluetooth is activated on the handset and the Mac.

    If the problem still occur, delete the old Bluetooth connection and create a new one in manual mode:

    • Open System Preferences > Bluetooth and delete the handset from the list there
    • Deactivate Bluetooth on the handset and disable the handset
    • Take the battery out of the handset and wait for a few seconds. Put the battery back in the handset
    • Close all programs on the Mac
    • Activate Bluetooth on the Mac and the handset
    • Open System Preferences > Bluetooth and add your handset manually. Click on "Configure Bluetooth device" to start the Apple Bluetooth wizard. Choose "All devices" from the device type menu and then select your handset from the list of all found devices. Follow the wizard's instructions
    • Important: The handset will now ask you for the Bluetooth PIN. Enter the password displayed in the Bluetooth wizard. The question "Save to list of known devices?" should appear — press "Yes" to confirm
    • Restart Gigaset QuickSync
    • Click on the [+] symbol in the list of all known handsets. All existing handsets are listed
    • Select your handset and click "Next" to connect
    • Click on the contact in the contact list
    • Click on the telephone number in the contact data and select the "Dial number" menu option

    The Gigaset establishes a connection with the selected phone number.

     

  • Place the handset in idle status (press and hold the end call key) and restart the process.

     

    If the problem still occur, please perform the followig steps:

    • Switch off your handset and restart the Mac
    • Switch your handset back on
    • Start Gigaset QuickSync and reconnect the handset
  • This can occur if the data synchronization direction is changed with every synchronization or if a communication error occurred when connecting to the handset.

    • Deactivate the Sync Manager prior to making any change to the data synchronization direction and then restart the program
  • using USB connection:

    • Managing / synchronizing contacts
      • You should create a backup copy of your Gigaset contacts on the Mac to prevent the loss of data. To save all contacts in a VCF address file, proceed as follows:

        • Create a backup folder on your Mac
        • Click on the "Contacts" tab to open the contact list
        • Click the "Refresh from phone" icon. Gigaset QuickSync imports all of the existing contacts from the handset and displays them in a list
        • Select all entries in the list (key combination
        • Drag the contact data to the backup folder
      • If you have saved all current contacts onto the Mac, you can perform the following steps:

        • Start Gigaset QuickSync
        • Switch to Setup Sync and deactivate the Sync Manager
        • Switch to the contact list and click "Refresh from phone"
        • Select and delete all of the contacts (drag them to the Mac Trash)
        • Click "Update with phone" to delete all contacts on the handset
        • Close and restart Gigaset QuickSync
        • Switch to Setup Sync and reactivate the Sync Manager. Configure the data synchronization direction as Mac to handset
        • Synchronize the data
      • using USB connection:

        Check that the USB cable is connected correctly and try again.

         

        using Bluetooth connection:

        Make sure that Bluetooth is activated on the handset and the Mac.

        If the problem still occur, delete the old Bluetooth connection and create a new one in manual mode:

        • Go to the iCloud option
        • Turn off Contacts sync

        If a message of "keep copy of local contacts" appears, then click "keep contacts". Now the contacts and groups will be available to sync with Sync Services and the Gigaset QuickSync software.

        Transferring contacts to the phone:

        • Click on the "Address Book" icon to open the Mac Address Book
        • Drag and drop the new contacts from the Mac Address Book to the contact list, or copy and paste the contacts to the contact list. The added contacts are highlighted in green
        • Click on the "Update with phone" icon to transfer the new contacts to the phone.

        If you now receive the same error, please perform all of the following steps:

        2. Delete the old Bluetooth connection and create a new one in manual mode:

    Bitte stellen sie die Landes- und Ortsvorwahl in der QuickSync Software und dem Gigaset Telefon korrekt ein. Eine falsche Einstellung kann zu Fehlern bei der Synchronisation führen.
