  • First steps for troubleshooting
  • Default data server “gigaset.com/chagall” doesn’t work anymore and must be replaced with “profile.gigaset.net/device” over WEB UI under Settings - Management – Firmware Update.

  • By default, the number of the caller is shown in the display of your Gigaset telephone. You do not have to make any other settings on your Gigaset telephone. However, if the caller's number is not displayed, this can be due to the following:

    - You have not ordered CID from your network provider or
    - Your telephone is connected through a PBX that does not transmit all information.

Is your telephone connected through a PBX/gateway?
You can establish this by checking for an additional device connected between your telephone and house connection, e.g., a PBX, gateway etc.
In most cases, simply resetting this device will remedy the situation:
    - Briefly disconnect the power plug of your PBX.
    - Re-insert the plug and wait for the device to restart.

If the caller number is still not displayed:
Check the CID settings of your PBX and activate this function if necessary. In the user guide for the device, search for the term "CID" (or an alternative term such as "phone number transmission", "caller ID", ..).

If necessary, contact the device manufacturer. If this does not resolve the problem, it is possible that your network provider does not support the CID service for this number.

Have you ordered the CID service from your network provider?
Check whether your provider supports Caller ID (CID) and that the function has been activated for you. If necessary, contact your provider.

  • If you operate your Gigaset on the telephone connection of a router/modem, make sure that you have noticed the following points:

    • Use the phone cable from the Gigaset packaging.
    • If the router or modem does not have a phone jack, it is necessary to use the enclosed phone cable or the enclosed phone adapter of your router/modem.
    • Connect the cable to the router`s phone jack / phone port / FON port.
    • Please check if your telephone data (internet telephone number, provider-profile, …) for the used telephone connection in the router/modem were entered correctly.
    • Please make sure that your internet connection is working.

If the problem persists, please contact your provider.

  • The default setting for your phone only allows you to access your phone's Web configurator via a PC that is in the same local network as your phone. The subnet mask of the PC must match that of the phone. You can also allow access from PCs in other networks:

    • Open the Web configurator
    • Go to "Settings" - "IP Configuration"
    • Show Advanced Settings
    • Enable the option "Allow access from other networks"

Warning: Authorising access from other networks increases the risk of unauthorised access. It is therefore recommended that you disable remote access if you no longer require it.

Please note: The Web configurator services can only be accessed from other networks if your router passes on the service requests from "outside" to port 80 (the default port) of the phone. Make sure you read the user manual for your router. To establish a connection, the public IP address or the DNS name of the router and, where applicable, the port number on the router must be indicated in the Web browser of the remote PC.

  • L
    • Link2Mobile
      • A connection is automatically established between the base in Bluetooth mode and the activated mobile in range:

        • If a call arrives via the mobile's GSM connection
        • If you attempt to make a call on the base via the GSM connection

If Bluetooth mode is deactivated on the base:

        • Open the list of known devices.
        • Select the activated mobile (marked).
        • Press the display key Options.
        • Select Connect Mobile and press OK.

Bluetooth is activated on the base. The base connects to the mobile.

You can also assign this function to a function key on the base:

        • Press and hold the display/function key until a list of possible key assignments is displayed.
        • Select the function Connect Mobile and press OK.

If the mobile is taken beyond the Bluetooth range of the base, you should re-establish the connection between the two as soon as the mobile is within range again(see above). This will ensure that a GSM call either to the base or from the base using the GSM connection is transferred.

      • You can conduct calls on your base and/or a registered handset via the GSM connection on your Bluetooth GSM mobile (calls external parties via the GSM connection on the mobile or accept calls via the GSM connection) if the following prerequisites are met:

        • Bluetooth mode is activated on the base and mobile.
        • Your GSM mobile has been registered on the base and activated.
        • There is a Bluetooth connection established between the base and mobile.
        • The mobile is in range of the base (less than 10 m).
        • For outgoing calls: The mobile connection is assigned to the base as a send connection, or the base can select the GSM connection as a send connection.
        • For accepting incoming calls: The GSM connection is assigned to the base as a receive connection.
      • Prerequisite: At least one mobile is in the list of known devices or a mobile is temporarily connected to the base.

Open Menu – Settings – Telephony - Send Connections

A list of internal parties is displayed (base, handsets, answering machine).

        • Select the internal party to be assigned to the GSM connection as a receive connection and press the display key OK.
        • Select Yes if the selected connection should continue to be the receive connection for the internal party.
        • Select No if it should not be the receive connection.
        • Switch to the GSM connection.
        • Select Yes if the GSM connection should be the receive connection for the internal party.
        • Press the display key Save to save the changes.
      • Prerequisite: Several phone numbers are configured for your desktop phone.

Open Menu – Settings – Telephony - Send Connections

A list of the internal parties (desktop phone, handsets, fax machine INT8 – where connected) is displayed.

        • Select the internal parties that should be assigned a new send connection and press the display key OK.
        • Select at each call or select a connection as the send connection.
        • Press the display key Save to save the changes.

If you select Select at each call, the internal party can select which send connection is used to establish a connection every time he makes a call.

      • Before you can use your Bluetooth devices, you must first activate Bluetooth and then
register the devices to the desktop phone. To use the phone numbers, dialing codes
(country and area code) must be stored on the desktop phone.

        Activating/deactivating Bluetooth mode

        • Menu
        • Bluetooth
        • Activation
        • Select and press OK to activate or deactivate Bluetooth mode

When the desktop phone is in idle status, the icon in the header indicates that Bluetooth mode is activated. As soon as Bluetooth is activated, your desktop phone is visible to all Bluetooth devices
in the receiving range and can communicate with all of the devices included in the Known Devices list.

        Registering Bluetooth devices
The distance between the desktop phone in Bluetooth mode and the activated Bluetooth device (headset or data device) should be no more than 10 m.

        • Menu
        • Bluetooth
        • Search for Headset / Search for Mobile phone / Search for Data Device

The search can take up to 30 seconds. Once the device has been found, its name or address is shown on the display.

        • Press the display key “Options”.
        • Trust Device
        • Select and press OK.
        • Enter the PIN of the Bluetooth device to be registered and press OK.

Generally you can enter a PIN of your choice for a data device. Subsequently, you must enter this PIN in the data device, too. Enter the preset PIN for the headset (usually:0000). For further information, please refer to the headset user guide. The device is saved in the list of known devices.

        Please note:

You can operate headsets on your handset that have the headset or handsfree profile. If both profiles are available, the handsfree profile is used to communicate.

It can take up to five seconds to establish a connection between your desktop phone and a Bluetooth headset. This applies both when a call is accepted using the headset or transferred to the headset, and when a number is dialed from the headset.

If you would like to use a headset already registered to another device (e.g., to a mobile phone) with your desktop phone, please deactivate this connection before you start the registration process.
The known devices list can only contain one Bluetooth headset. If you register a second headset, the first one is deleted from the list.
If the list already contains six entries, the last device to be entered is deleted during the subsequent registration process.
Exception: The headset entry is only overwritten by a new headset and a headset only overwrites the headset entry.

  • N
    • Notes on Caller ID (CID)

    New and extended functions

    • Extended possibility to connect devices to the FAX port:
