After connecting sucessfully, synchronization can be carried out. The process of managing contacts is automatic.

The contacts from the handset that is currently connected and the contacts from the selected database like Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express or Contacts on Microsoft Windows Vista on the computer are used.

For proper synchronization and phone number conversion during synchronization with handset, Area Numbers should be properly entered. Please refer to handset User manual how to set your actual Area Numbers.

The selected PC database and the connected handset are shown in the main application window.

The contacts database on the computer can be changed in the Settings >> Contacts, see Settings - Contacts. Handset may be changed as described in Connecting to a handset.

Fields which will be synchronized with handset:

Data Field Maximum transferred charakters

  • First Name 16
  • Surname 16
  • Phone Home 32
  • Phone Office 32
  • Phone Mobile 32
  • E-mail 60 A

To start synchronization:

  • Click the icon in the System Tray and select the option Synchronize .
  • Click the icon in the main window of the application.
  • Select the menu option File >> Synchronize .
  • The synchronization process uses the following rules: If there is the same contact with non-conflicting differences (for example: on the handset John Smith with a phone number and the same contact with the same number and an additional e-mail on the PC) the data on both the handset and in the computer database is updated.
  • A contact on the handset that is not in the computer database will be copied to the database. A contact in the computer database that is not on the handset will be copied to the handset according to the settings in the Settings >> Contacts tab, see Settings - Contacts tab .
  • To change the contacts synchronized to the handset please refer to the Filtering contacts dialogue, see Synchronization - Filtering .
  • If the contact is already synchronized, the next synchronization will update the contacts with those changes made since the last synchronization (for example a change in the phone number, adding new data).
  • The system shows the synchronization process with a single status line and progress bar. The user may interrupt the operation with the " Stop " button. When the operation is complete, the system notifies the user with the date and time of the last successful synchronization.
  • Conflicts: There may be conflicts if the user has changed data on both the handset and in the PC database since the last synchronization.
  • The application will handle conflicts according to the option Conflict resolution under the Settings >> Contacts tab, see Synchronization - Conflict resolving . If the option Let me resolve conflicts is active, an appropriate message will be shown when there is a conflict. Click the link " There are {...} conflicts to resolve. " to open the Conflict Resolving Dialogue dialogue.
  • No free entries on the handset If there are no more free entries on the handset an appropriate message will be shown after synchronization.
  • Click the link " Handset address book is full. Could not store {...} contacts " to open the Filtering contacts dialogue.
  • Remarks Contacts from the PC without any phone numbers will not be synchronized (they will be ignored by the software).
  • At least one number is mandatory. If the first name and surname fields are empty in the PC database, the phone number will be copied to the surname before synchronizing with the handset.
  • Handset has limited set of accessible characters (for details please refer to handset's User manual). If your contact on PC has chars outside this set, they can be not displayed properly on handset (or even not displayed at all).
