  • Find the cause of a problem by rebooting to safe mode.

    You can use safe mode to start your device with only the original software and apps that came with your device. Some apps that you can download may cause your device to freezing, crashing, be slow or keep restarting itself. If the problem does not happen in safe mode, the problem is probably caused by a third-party app downloaded on your Gigaset device.

    If your device is on, follow these steps to reboot to safe mode:
    1. Press & hold the Power button.
    2. In the box that opens, touch & hold Power off.
    3. You’ll see a “Reboot to safe mode” box. Tap OK.
    4. Your Gigaset device will start in safe mode. You'll see the words "Safe mode" in a box at the bottom of the display.

    Now, use the Gigaset device normally and see if the problem still happens in safe mode. Remember that you can use only original apps in safe mode, not any downloaded apps.

    To Exit the safe mode just restart the Gigaset device.

    Go to "Settings" > "Backup & reset" > "Factory data reset" and then tap "Reset phone"

  • How can I change the network type?

    Insert the SIM card, go to "Settings" > "More" > "Mobile networks" > "Preferred network type" to select a network type.

    Set the network type to "2G" in urban or rural areas with poor 3G or 4G signal coverage can resolve failures such as call drops and intermittences caused by the switchover among 3G, 4G land 2G signals.

    Check your 'Display Category' and/or 'Contacts' are selected in the settings menu. Go to "Contacts", tap "Contacts Settings" in the upper right corner, then "Contacts to display", to set the categories to display, e.g. "All contacts".

    Go to "Settings" > "Apps", tap on each app, then tap "Clear data" or "Clear cache". Alternative solution: Install a third-party management app and use "One-touch optimise" or the like to quickly clear junk files (data) produced by the apps.

    No, our smartphone products GS160, GS170, GS270, GS270 plus, GS370 and GS370 plus are not affected by the Specter and Meltdown vulnerabilities!
