  • What is needed to configurate my MobileDock?

    At Gigaset base stations, the basic functionality is available without any further configuration after DECT- and Bluetooth Registration. Incoming Smartphone calls are forwarded to all registered DECT Handsets.

    In case MobileDock is operated on other base stations or Routers, or only one DECT Handset shall ring, you need the MobileDock APP available in Google or Apple APP store.
    Technical requirements are smartphone with operating system Android 4.4/ iOS 7 or higher, Bluetooth 4.0.

     

     

  • How many MobileDocks can be registered to a DECT system?

    Theoretically as many as registration places are available. For a useful setup at least one DECT handset should be registered too.

  • Why Incoming cell phone calls are directly disconnected at smartphone?

    This can be the case, if MobileDock is the only registered device on DECT system. Please register at least one handset to the DECT system.

  • How many Smartphones can I connect via Bluetooth with the MobileDock?

    Up to 5 Bluetooth devices can be connected with the MobileDock. Therof two smartphones can be linked to MobileDock at the same time.

  • Why no name is presented on DECT Handset, even if MobileDock is operated on a fully compatible Gigaset DECT System and a matching name is available in the smartphone contacts?

    For presentation of contact names, MobileDock requires access rights to the smartphone contacts.
    Android: Activate 'Contact sharing' in Settings - Bluetooth - Settings for MobileDock
    iOS: Activate 'Sync Contacts' in Settings - Bluetooth - Settings for MobileDock 

  • How long will a firmware update take and how many data will be downloaded?

    A firmware update will take about 10 minutes, circa 1,2 MegaBytes will be downloaded and transferred via the Smartphone to MobileDock.

  • Why are access rights to the location of the Smartphone required by MobileDock APP since Android 6?

    Since Android 6, Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) is connected with the location service. APP makes use of Bluetooth LE to connect to MobileDock. This requires access rights to the activated location service, effectively without retrieving the location of the Smartphone.

  • How do I prepare my Smartphone for firmware update of MobileDock?

    New Firmware will be announced in MobileDock APP. The firmware update will be controlled by MobileDock APP. Preconditions @ smartphone:

    •MobileDock APP installed.
    •Bluetooth Tethering (personal Hotspot) is available and activated on Smartphone
    •Data connection available via WLAN or mobile network. iOS allows only Bluetooth tethering via mobile network.

    Start the firmware update via MobileDock APP.

    Bluetooth tethering is usually activated:

    Android: Settings / VPN / Tethering & mobile hotspot / BT-Tethering

    iOS: Settings / Personal Hotspot (please ensure SIM card and contract supports mobile data connection. Mobile data connection must be configurated.)

    Tethering function can be disabled after the software update is finished. Due to data transfer additional costs may arise / depending on used mobile contract.
