  • At Gigaset base stations, the basic functionality is available without any further configuration after DECT- and Bluetooth Registration. Incoming Smartphone calls are forwarded to all registered DECT Handsets.

    In case MobileDock is operated on other base stations or Routers, or only one DECT Handset shall ring, you need the MobileDock APP available in Google or Apple APP store.

  • Theoretically as many as registration places are available. For a useful setup at least one DECT handset should be registered too.

  • This can be the case, if MobileDock is the only registered device on DECT system. Please register at least one handset to the DECT system.

  • Up to 5 Bluetooth devices can be connected with the MobileDock. Therof two smartphones can be linked to MobileDock at the same time.

  • New Firmware will be announced in MobileDock APP. The firmware update will be controlled by MobileDock APP. Preconditions @ smartphone:

    •MobileDock APP installed.
    •Bluetooth Tethering (personal Hotspot) is available and activated on Smartphone
    •Data connection available via WLAN or mobile network. iOS allows only Bluetooth tethering via mobile network.

    Start the firmware update via MobileDock APP.

    Bluetooth tethering is usually activated:

    Android: Settings / VPN / Tethering & mobile hotspot / BT-Tethering

    iOS: Settings / Personal Hotspot (please ensure SIM card and contract supports mobile data connection. Mobile data connection must be configurated.)

    Tethering function can be disabled after the software update is finished. Due to data transfer additional costs may arise / depending on used mobile contract.

  • A firmware update will take about 10 minutes, circa 1,2 MegaBytes will be downloaded and transferred via the Smartphone to MobileDock.

  • For presentation of contact names, MobileDock requires access rights to the smartphone contacts.
    Android: Activate 'Contact sharing' in Settings - Bluetooth - Settings for MobileDock

      • Via MobileDock APP you can configure MobileDock and extend the BT range to ~10m.(note: Initiate Smartphone calls is more difficult as the audio path is directed to the DECT system even on long distance. You have to redirect audiopath to the smartphone via smartphone menu)

      • When resetting the MobileDock, or removing a Smartphone via the APP, the connecting information is deleted only on MobileDock side. The MobileDock must be removed manually on the smartphone from the list of connected devices.

      • Since Android 6, Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) is connected with the location service. APP makes use of Bluetooth LE to connect to MobileDock. This requires access rights to the activated location service, effectively without retrieving the location of the Smartphone.

      • MobileDock is paired to the Smartphone acting as a Bluetooth handsfree set. The voice control in Smartphone uses this connection to answer.

        In order to avoid this, Bluetooth has to be unlinked in advance as follows:

        Leave the Bluetooth range. (Connection status is show on Smartphone)
             or
        Switch off BT on my Smartphone
             or
        Push the on/off button on MobileDock. (all Smartphones will be unlinked!)

      • In most cases it helps to switch the Bluetooth functionality on the Smartphone off and on again.

      • As MobileDock is paired to the Smartphone acting as a Bluetooth handsfree set, the Smartphone transfers an ongoing call to MobileDock as soon it's in Bluetooth range (similar to a car handsfree set).
        - Call can be taken back to the Smartphone
        - Call can be taken and continued on ringing DECT Handsets
        - By leaving the Bluetooth range of MobileDock the Call is transferred back to Smartphone

      • For presentation of contact names, MobileDock requires access rights to the smartphone contacts.

      • At the same time one call of the linked smartphones can be forwarded via the MobileDock. A call on second smartphone will be signaled only on the smartphone.

    • Installation / Configuration

      • If already 2 Smartphones are linked to the MobileDock (connected and linked) additional connecting is not possible. To allow connecting in this situation one of the linked Smartphones must be unlinked (for example switch off Bluetooth on the smartphone).

      • Install MobileDock APP to your Smartphone.

        Use the MobileDock APP setup function.

        Connect MobileDock to your DECT system following the Manufacturer instruction.

        Choose a profile.

        Test the call fowarding by giving a call to your smartphone and take it on DECT handset, check the voice connection.


        If first chosen profile not work, please try another one.

         

         

      • On such systems the registration of MobileDock has to be done directly at the base station to be successful. Following the extended range of the Repeater can be used.

      • In the APP Bluetooth 4.0 mechanisms are used. So the Smartphone must support Bluetooth 4.0. Also the Smartphones' operating system must support Bluetooth 4.0 (since iOS7 and Android 4.4).

      • Set the DECT system PIN to “0000”.

          Or

        Use the MobileDock APP inclusive setup function.

      • - First the white LED is flashing (Delete Flash)
        - Then the blue LED is flashing (Activate Tethering / Personal Hotspot)
        - Then the white and blue LED are alternately flashing (Download)
        - Then the white and blue LED are simultaneously flashing (Installation)
        After the update was finished the white LED shines permanently. The blue LED shines permanently as soon the Bluetooth link to smartphone is established again.

    • Troubleshooting
      • At the same time one call of the linked smartphones can be forwarded via the MobileDock. A call on second smartphone will be signaled only on the smartphone.

      • When resetting the MobileDock, or removing a Smartphone via the APP, the connecting information is deleted only on MobileDock side. The MobileDock must be removed manually on the smartphone from the list of connected devices.

      • The time for taking the call on the Voicemail is defined by the mobile box itself. Please contact your mobile provider for more information.
