Gigaset AG, Munich, is an internationally operating holding company in the area of communications technology. Its main subsidiary is Gigaset Communications GmbH, which is wholly owned by Gigaset AG.
Gigaset sees itself as an end-to-end provider of communications technology. The company has around 900 employees and operates in more than 50 countries. Gigaset AG is headed by its CEO Klaus Weßing. His clear objective is to stabilize the company’s financial situation, secure its transformation into a solution-oriented communications provider, and ensure that it generates an operating profit and slight growth on the back of a clear diversification strategy.
In 2018, Gigaset AG posted revenue from continuing operations of €280.3 million and EBITDA of €22.1 million and also grew in all its new business segments (Smartphones, Smart Home, and Professional).
Gigaset AG is listed in the Prime Standard of Deutsche Börse and is therefore subject to the highest transparency requirements. Its shares are traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the symbol GGS (ISIN: DE0005156004).

Gigaset Communications GmbH develops, produces and sells products in four core areas which together form the Gigaset ecosystem – a fully integrated technological system comprising individual components that dovetail seamlessly and, together with services from strategic partners and external third parties, deliver crucial value added for customers.
- Phones: Gigaset Communications GmbH’s core business comprises developing, producing and selling DECT cordless phones for private customers. In this business segment, Gigaset boasts the most extensive portfolio of all telephony vendors and offers products with price points ranging from the low to the premium segment. Gigaset is Europe’s market leader and also ranks among the top five international producers.
- Smartphones: The company has operated in this business segment since 2016. Mobile devices are a logical complement to the range of products from the Phones portfolio. Gigaset is committed to marketing products with the Android® operating system in the low to mid-range price segment. Gigaset also launched the first smartphone “Made in Germany” in mid-2018 and since then has put further smartphones with this unique selling point on the market.
- Smart Home: Gigaset entered the smart home market back in 2012. The company sets store by a sensor-based, modular approach that can be adapted and modified by the customer as and when desired. Continuous updates and further developments of the products are ensured by the related cloud and app technology. The company currently focuses on three application areas: smart security, smart comfort and smart care.
- Professional: Apart from a broad B2C portfolio, Gigaset offers products for business customers looking for professional communications solutions. This segment comprises white label products sold under third-party brand names and the company’s own Gigaset pro series, which delivers high-quality desktop and mobile telephony solutions, as well as scalable single- and multi-cell systems for SMEs and enterprise customers.
Independent product tests and readers’ polls regularly confirm that Gigaset products lead the way in terms of quality, features and usability. Many products have received accolades, such as the IF Design Award or the Red Dot Award, for their timeless, elegant design. In surveys and tests by trade magazines such as connect, Gigaset products have occupied leading positions – especially in the field of DECT cordless phones – for years without interruption.
