Gigaset, one of the leading vendors in the field of technology and consumer electronics, is now an official Platinum Partner of FC Bayern Munich. The company is its exclusive partner for the segment of smartphones, tablets and wearables. The agreement, which was pre-sented to the public today in Munich, will run for an initial term of three years.
With more than 400 million fans throughout the world, FC Bayern Munich is the ideal platform for Gigaset to increase awareness of its brand further. The deal has been concluded immediately be-fore the market launch of a portfolio of initial smartphones at the Consumer Electronics Fair (IFA) in Berlin. In this context, Gigaset is currently building international cooperation ventures. Following May’s announcement of its official partnership with the legendary and iconic Ascot racecourse in the United Kingdom and the world-famous Royal Ascot meeting, it has now teamed up with FC Bayern Munich, a further top-flight international sports brand steeped in tradition.
“The cooperation with FC Bayern Munich marks the beginning of a new era for Gigaset in which we’ll tap new growth segments by entering the smartphone business,” says CEO Charles Fränkl. “The brands go together excellently: Both partners unite careful cultivation of a long and valuable tradition, as well as being totally committed to innovation. What’s important for us is that we want to strike up a lively dialog not only with the club, but also its fans.”
Various joint actions are planned: Gigaset will accompany the club, which holds a record number of German championship titles, on its China tour from 16 to 24 July, where it will play three games in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. China is a strategically important growth market for both enterprises. In addition, Gigaset will be active and prominently placed in the stadium during home games in the German league season.
