More safety for the home: Securitas enables first premium service for Gigaset elements

Munich, January 20, 2014 – Securitas and Gigaset have fostered a development partnership since Gigaset elements, an innovative system for connected living, started to be developed. Now this cooperation is bearing concrete fruit. With the premium service “Gigaset elements monitored by Securitas,” the leading security service provider Securitas aims to ensure that no alarm is missed.

The service at the heart of the cooperation “Gigaset elements safety” is computer-aided handling of alarms by Securitas, which can be additionally ordered by all Gigaset elements customers. The security service provider runs two certified emergency call and service centers in Germany.

“If Gigaset elements sets off an alarm, our system automatically notifies four contact persons defined by the customer until they accept the alert and address the matter. That means our customers can rest assured that no alarm is ignored, because our specialized alerting system always takes care of the situation,” is how Jerôme Johl, Managing Director of Securitas Alert, describes the service in a nutshell.

The cooperation will initially commence with a free pilot phase. Interested customers can test the service free of charge for three months and register to do so at https://gigaset.securitas.de. The price of the premium service will be set after piloting. The customers can then freely decide whether they wish to continue using the service for a charge or not.

Obvious advantages
“Two emergency call centers staffed around the clock and a special alerting server mean ‘Gigaset elements – monitored by Securitas’ does not miss an alarm. Thanks to our joint solution, we make our customers’ homes even safer,” says Axel Godoy, Head of Sales for Gigaset elements.

About Gigaset elements
Gigaset elements comprises a DECT ULE base station, intelligent sensors and a smartphone app for Android or iOS. It connects people to their home and informs them what is happening there via smartphone. Gigaset elements users are notified of movements, doors being opened or possible attempted break-ins by push notifications sent to their smartphone.

“Up to now our customers have been able to take action themselves in response to an alarm. They can now alert neighbors, friends or the police and ask them to check that everything’s alright when they are away from home. Gigaset elements safety thus gives our customers even greater assurance that everything is OK at home,” adds Godoy.
