Gigaset & Microsoft Teams: Fixed network and Unified Communications on one end device

Gigaset & Microsoft Teams

In many companies around the world, the way of working is changing towards more flexible models with mobile work and home offices, for which cloud-based Unified Communications (UC) solutions are also increasingly used. Microsoft Teams is Microsoft's globally widespread and frequently used UC offering for corporate communications. It enables real-time collaboration and communication across multiple devices, including laptops and mobile devices, no matter where employees are located or in which time zone.

With the Teams integration in its IP DECT systems, Gigaset supports the technological change in the professional environment. Companies can continue to use their existing infrastructure and are future-proof. In addition to Microsoft Teams telephony via PC and headset, it is also possible to use Microsoft Teams via the Gigaset Professional handsets.

Connected via Microsoft Teams SIP Gateway

Microsoft Teams has implemented a SIP gateway that will be integrated into the Gigaset IP DECT systems via a firmware update. This makes it possible to use the Gigaset N610/N670/N870/N870E single and multi-cells with Microsoft Teams. Users can log in to Microsoft Teams with their company credentials and then make calls via Teams using their Gigaset Professional DECT phone.

Simple configuration via autoprovisioning

The DECT IP systems are automatically configured via autoprovisioning. For completion, only the handsets then need to be registered as Teams participants. The process is as follows:

*The predecessor models S650H PRO, SL750H PRO and R650H PRO are also compatible

Convenient use from any location

A user can log in both in the office using a handset registered to the office's N870 IP PRO multi-cell system, and in the home office using the single-cell N610 IP PRO. There is no need to log off when leaving the office or home office, as incoming calls ring at both locations. The most important functions of Teams can be conveniently controlled via the handset's hardware keys.

You can find more detailed information on the setup, installation and registration of the handsets on our Gigaset Professional Wiki page.
