Gigaset AG appoints Kai Dorn as CFO - Contract with CEO Charles Fränkl extended

Munich, December 10, 2014 - The Supervisory Board of Gigaset AG has appointed Kai Dorn (35) as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Gigaset AG effective January 1, 2015. The Supervisory Board has also decided to extend the contract of CEO Charles Fränkl by two years. The engagement of Maik Brockmann, responsible for Corporate Affairs, will end when his contract expires on March 31, 2015.

Kai Dorn had previously been Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Gigaset AG since 2008. In this capacity, he has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Gigaset Com-munications GmbH and held several top management posts in subsidiaries in the time when Gigaset AG was still a holding company. Dorn succeeds Dr. Alexander Blum (38), who informed the Supervisory Board in July 2014 that he would be departing when his contract of employment ends on December 31, 2014.

“Following careful examination of several internal and external candidates who were po-tentially very well suited for the post, I and the Supervisory Board are delighted to have found an outstandingly qualified person from within the company in the shape of Kai Dorn, who already has an intimate knowledge of all the challenges facing the company,” says Bernhard Riedel, Chairman of the Executive Board of Gigaset AG. “Mr. Dorn has excellent know-how in financial management, controlling and raising capital. I very much look forward to continuing to work with him.”

Charles Fränkl, CEO of Gigaset AG, comments: “Kai Dorn’s appointment is a clear signal that we’re sticking uncompromisingly to our growth strategy.” Gigaset AG used the pro-ceeds it obtained from capital measures in July to repay all its financial debts. Since then, the company has had a wide range of options available to further fund its growth objec-tives.

Before joining Gigaset, Kai Dorn was a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers AG in Frankfurt. He studied at the University of Hohenheim and holds a degree in economics.

The Supervisory Board of Gigaset AG has also decided to extend the contract of CEO Charles Fränkl by a further two years. “Mr. Fränkl has succeeded in strategically realigning Gigaset and securing it financially through capital measures. As a result, he has made the company fit for the future. Mr. Fränkl has the complete confidence of the Supervisory Board,” says its Chairman, Bernhard Riedel.

The contract of Maik Brockmann, the Executive Board member responsible for corporate affairs, will not be renewed. It will expire effective March 31, 2015. “The Supervisory Board would to thank Maik Brockmann for his good work and wish him all the best for the future," states Bernhard Riedel. Maik Brockmann has been on the Executive Board since 2010.
