Gigaset HX – Attractive handsets for direct use on routers

Munich, December 7, 2015 - Gigaset is presenting the HX series, new universal handsets that can be used not only on Gigaset base stations, but also with routers that support the DECT protocol (AVM FRITZ!Box) or the CAT-iq standard (Telekom Speedport). The models in the new HX series offer customers who want a classy design, quality “Made in Germany” and functionality from their phone an alternative to the system handsets of router vendors.

The new Gigaset universal handsets from the HX series are a premium alternative to the system handsets from router vendors. They allow customers to use the handset directly with the router and – with the same convenience offered by system handsets from router vendors – directly access all services in the router. They also give customers a completely new range of choice in terms of design, finish, refined functionality and ergonomics.

Gigaset HX – the premium alternative
“The new HX line has all the telephony functions offered by system handsets from router vendors. The design and diversity of our handsets also enable customers to find the right phone to go visually with their home,” says Raphael Dörr, press spokesperson for Gigaset AG.

Operation of a handset directly on a router gives users numerous convenience functions that can also be used by the new models from the HX series. Key features that have top priority for customers are access to the internal telephone directory of the routers, the lists of incoming, outgoing or missed calls and operation of the router’s answering machine.

The issue of voice is no less important: The handsets in the HX line are HD Voice (high-definition voice) certified and transmit IP-based calls in crystal-clear wideband voice quality. The result is a particularly natural voice quality and brilliant sound.

S850HX and SL450HX kick off the series
“To launch the new HX series, we’ve given customers the choice of two models from different price segments: the S850HX and SL450HX,” adds Raphael Dörr. Both models are versatile organizational talents: The S850HX impresses with its PC connectivity options and functional elegance. The SL450HX is a compact all-rounder from the premium class that has already captured the PlusX Award as the best device of 2015/2016. As a model from the SL series, it is one of Gigaset’s most innovative phones. The device boasts excellent acoustics, an aluminum frame and what is still the largest display for a cordless phone with a keypad.

Both models also offer customers CLIP, Bluetooth and a micro USB connection port. They thus help enhance the profile of universal handsets and enable the use of headsets and convenience features such as showing the caller with his/her photo or use of personal ringtones. The S850HX and SL450HX both have an extra-large address book with space for up to 500 contacts. The contacts are saved directly as an electronic calling card (vCard) and so can be transferred to or from smartphones or PCs quickly and easily. That is simple to do via Bluetooth or micro USB using the free Gigaset Quicksync software.

The new HX models are now on sale at retailers and in the Gigaset online shop (the Gigaset S850HX at a RRP of €79.99 and the Gigaset SL450HX at a RRP of €139.99) and can be used on suitable routers. More information on the compatibility of handsets from the HX portfolio with Gigaset base stations, telephone base stations from other vendors and routers can be obtained at www.gigaset.com/kompatibilitaet.
