Plus X Award 2023: Gigaset named Retail Brand of the Year for the third time in a row

This year, Gigaset has been named “Specialist Retailer Brand of the Year” by the prestigious Plus X Award for the third time in a row, making it a trustworthy partner for the telecommunications retail sector. With its long and rich tradition, the company is Europe’s number one for DECT telephony and one of the best-known telecommunications brands worldwide. In more than 50 countries, private and business customers alike appreciate the quality, design, functionality and sustainability of the company’s products. Gigaset’s success over many decades would not be possible without a close partnership with specialist retailers.

The Plus X Award is the world’s largest innovation prize for technology, sport and lifestyle. Seals of approval are traditionally awarded in seven established categories: Innovation, High Quality, Design, Ease of Use, Functionality, Ergonomics and Ecology. Special awards are also presented at regular intervals to draw attention to special achievements by brands and companies. One of these is the “Specialist Retailer Brand of the Year”. The award is based on a Germany-wide survey in which the Plus X Award calls on  specialist retailers to vote for their favorite brand.

Gigaset also a showcase partner for specialist retailers in 2023

With the special award “Specialist Retailer Brand of the Year”, the Plus X Award recognizes companies that have made a special contribution in terms of partnership. Gigaset has supported retailers with training programs, webinars, information material, various video formats, at events, and with numerous sales-boosting measures.

Specialist retailers as an important interface between customer and Gigaset

“Specialist retailers continue to play a very important role for Gigaset,” says Clemens Lapawczyk, VP Sales Germany at Gigaset. “Specialist retailers are a vital sales channel in particular for multi-layered projects in the B2B sector, or other complex projects. Specialist retailers are the interface between manufacturer and customer, and provide expert advice as valuable help to customers in their purchase decision. We appreciate that and, for that reason, attach so much importance to a good partnership relationship with our retailers. The personal contact and exchange about products, strategies, visions and their implementation between Gigaset and specialist retailers will also be an important part of our joint success in the future.” The close collaboration between Gigaset and specialist retailers is therefore continuing to gain in importance – irrespective of e-commerce and digitalization – so that we can offer customers an optimum solution and accompany complex unified communications projects in the B2B sector.

Clemens Lapawczyk goes on to say: “We are very proud to have been recognized this year as best specialist retailer brand of the year for the third time in a row. It is an award from our trade partners and, as such, has been very important feedback for us for many years.” “The award shows that Gigaset, or rather all the employees in sales have worked very responsibly and in partnership with retail and the skilled trade sector, and we are very proud of that!”

Donat Brandt, President of the PLUS X AWARD: “The extensive digitalization and networking of our society enables customers to buy products from all over the world, without being able to rely on comprehensive personal advice. Distance selling therefore poses a decisive risk for customers: bad buys. The consumer makes purchases in distance selling that end up being a bad buy due to ignorance or a lack of consulting expertise. Both specialist retailers and the skilled trade sector are in a position to save the consumer specifically from that risk. That is why strengthening, protecting and preserving these sales channels are of paramount important both for industry and the consumer. For that reason, brands that have internalized and protect the importance of specialist retail and the skilled trade sector receive the special award as specialist retailer and skilled trade brand.”
