The Gigaset E310 and E550 large-button phones: Ergonomics that stand out from the standard telephone

Munich, February 25, 2016 - Large-button phones are no longer popular only among senior citizens. Their many advantages also make the visually appealing models useful companions for young people in their everyday life or for households with children. They are even regarded as a sensible solution in certain segments of business. That is why Gigaset has put the focus of its two latest large-button models, the E310 and E550, on refined functionality as well as intuitive user interfaces and menus, all in a blend of perfect ergonomics.

The Gigaset E310 and E550 – the difference you can feel
Both the Gigaset E310 and E550 have very high-contrast displays with text that can be optionally enlarged. Large, brightly illuminated operating keys that have a strong pressure point and are separated from each other in a clearly perceptible way, as well as easily legible lettering, ensure that they stand out visually and tactilely from normal phones. Yet whether the phone is intended for use by the elderly or in particularly turbulent situations – what often counts most is the volume. The phones have a means of increasing the volume to ensure particularly loud sound reproduction. In conjunction with a special acoustics design for excellent voice quality and comprehensibility, they are also designed to cater perfectly for people who wear hearing aids. A hands-free function with a separate loudspeaker rounds out the top-class audio features.

Convenience features in both models
The E310 is the entry-level model, whereas the E550 offers higher-end features. As in all Gigaset phones, the E310A and E550A are the variants with an integrated answering machine. The structured grips on the side of the E310 handset’s elegantly designed housing mean the phone can be held securely. The higher-end E550 has an “extra loud” key to double the handset’s volume, as well as an illuminated panorama color display with extra-large digits. On the back of the handset an LED, which can also be used as a torch, indicates incoming calls.

In addition, four speed dial keys enable the most frequently used numbers to be called at the touch of a single button. They can also be used in an emergency. If the emergency call button is pressed, the telephone selects the phone numbers of family, friends or emergency services one by one and automatically plays an emergency message.

Gigaset E550 – simple handling, good feeling
The Gigaset E550 is the premium large-button phone from Gigaset and proves that telephony functions for the elderly can also be delivered in an appealing look. It impresses with perfect ergonomics and refined functionality, as well as intuitive user interfaces and menus. The integrated torch is also a means of visually indicating calls. The four speed dial keys enable calls to made at the touch of just one button and can also be used as a SOS function. The Gigaset E550 also leaves nothing to be desired in terms of acoustics – it is compatible with hearing aids and permits hands-free use in brilliant sound quality.

The Gigaset E310 – a large-button phone with top-class ergonomics and looks
The elegant Gigaset E310 expands the range of easy-to-use large-button phones in the Gigaset portfolio.  Apart from the big, brightly illuminated keys, the high-contrast, large-font display makes it easy to use the Gigaset E310. A crisp sound, an accentuated volume and a frequency range that can be set to two levels ensure that callers can be heard clearly at all times. The acoustics of the Gigaset E310 have been designed so as to also be ideal for people with hearing aids. A hands-free function with a separate loudspeaker rounds out the Gigaset E310’s top-class audio features. The structured grips on the side of the handset’s elegantly designed housing mean the phone can be held securely.
